Corbet Is Causing a Stink!!!!

In Natural Gas Safety, Odorization System

Natural gas does not smell.  But the practice of adding odorant to make natural gas smell like rotten eggs has been done for decades for your safety.

In 1937, at a school in New London, Texas, a natural gas leaked caused an explosion, killing nearly 300 teachers and students. This event changed the natural gas industry for ever.

After the explosion, scientists began developing types of odorants that people could readily detect based off of sulfur products. It’s a derivative of the oil itself, that gets re-injected into the gas that causes it to smell like it does. This is what causes the rotten eggs smell.

Since 1996, Midland Resource Recovery (MRR) has been the leader in natural gas odorant and odorization solutions. As a trusted partner in odorization, our services range from pickling gas lines, odorant equipment removal, odorizer installs, odorant deliveries, providing transitory odorization, rental of odorization systems, emergency spill response, and training in most aspects of the odorization process.
